Treatment Family Care (TFC) is a specialized form of foster care that provides intensive, family-based support for children with significant emotional, behavioral, or medical needs, offering a more structured and therapeutic healing environment. The TFC program is designed to be a short-term treatment phase as the child heals and recovers in a home as we work towards permanency.
MBCH is seeking Christian families for this ministry. Being a TFC parent is a full-time job and requires at least one parent to remain at home or for the parent to have a flexible job to be able to accommodate the needs of the child. We are also seeking families who will take TFC children on respite for a weekend to help give TFC homes a break or in case of an emergency.
Benefits to becoming a TFC family include:
- Additional trauma-informed training
- 24/7 support and crisis intervention
- Support staff in home weekly
- Help navigating all systems (medical, legal, school, etc.)
- Clear treatment goals for the children in the home
- Additional funding for foster parents
- Agency support for gifts, clothing, furniture, etc.
- TFC Specialists become an active member of the Family Support Team and help families develop resources in the community
- Last but not least, you will be able to provide a structured and loving home to a child in need
