Branches at Brookline

The Branches at Brookline Group Home located in Springfield Missouri provide a beautiful, spacious living arrangement for both men and women who are intellectually and developmentally disabled. The residents of this home stay busy all through the week, working during the day, and taking part in varied activities when not working such as karaoke, crafts, softball, Special Olympics, etc. Residents participate in Special Friends Sunday School Class at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, and Open Door Fellowship Church supplies food, cake, and presents for quarterly birthday celebrations.

Country Haven

Country Haven Cottage was established by Special Care Homes in 2002 as a home for adults with Developmental Type Disabilities. The facility was built on a hillside in a beautiful rural area south of Kansas City. This ministry merged with and became part of MBCH Children & Family Ministries in 2008.

The Country Haven Cottage is a spacious ranch-style, eight-bedroom home, arranged with four bedrooms on two wings. There is accommodation for four men and four women, and each client has their own bedroom and sink. Both wings have a bathroom/shower facility.  A large common area is connected to the kitchen and dining room, making plenty of living space for the residents. There is also adequate space for the live-in staff who provide care on a one-to-four ratio.

The residents function as a family and Country Haven Cottage becomes their home. Ages typically range from 21 to 68 years of age.

All clients serve in the area by working in the community workshop. They actively participate in church, recreational activities, and community events, and take walks on the beautiful acreage. All clients have the opportunity to participate in the Special Olympics.
